The lectures by Knut Remond on electroacoustic and electronic music, sound installations, sound objects, sounddesign and field recording are prepared according to the issue.
The lectures are conceived specially for multimedia presentation.
The lectures show how children and young teenagers react on contemporary electronic and electroacoustic music, sound installation, audio drama and field recordings, on the basis of the numerous projects by the ohrenhoch-Kids.
The project 'ohrenhoch-Kids' was invented and developed by Knut Remond in 2008. The speciality is that the ohrenhoch-Kids meet in 'ohrenhoch, the Noise Shop' once a week.
'ohrenhoch' is also a school for Sound Art. Four times a year the ohrenhoch-Kids present their productions to the public.
In the lecture, examples from the projects by the ohrenhoch-Kids are shown and played back. These are projects that the ohrenhoch-Kids invented and presented in a multifaceted process. I will talk about these examples, but also about a current project.
Listening is an invaluable sensitisation – especially for the future.
A vital part is about the fact that we are living in an electronic era. It is important that children and young teenagers get the chance early to deal with modern or avant-garde music and sound art. In this context I get the impression of still living in the 19th century, concerning music lessons in schools especially. mp3 players, mobile phones, computers etc. are not only annoying consumer products, but instruments we or the children are able to deal with creatively, inventively, playfully, and critically at the same time.
Music or the acoustic is a central point in these lectures, but also the interconnection between the visual and the acoustic, between pictures and sounds or noises.
Thereby, the experiences I made with the ohrenhoch-Kids are an important factor.
Since I practice the project of the ohrenhoch-Kids school, I experience that we extremely neglect our acoustic environment. Music is an important module enabling us to have a better understanding also for other disciplines as for example the shaping of the surroundings or the critical and at the same time playful questioning of different issues. Acting inventively on these issues leads us to improve the quality of life, and the acoustic in particular reminds us that the world's functioning is not only visual.
Conclusion:
The universal, integrated acting and thinking will be thematised with and about Sound Art.
