"Walking with Ghosts"
started life as a soundscape to accompany a reading of "Mourning Walk" ("Trauerspaziergang"), a landscape text by writer Carl Lavery. Its structure and timing are derived from the text, and the sound materials were chosen to reflect particular aspects of the story told in the text. As it developed, it grew away from the text until the two pieces became separate, though closely related. Now it tells its own story - and invites all listeners to create their own imaginary narrative and scenes as they listen.
